I have been happily married 32 years (married VERY young :) ) and have a wonderful husband, two amazing children, three adorable dogs full of personality, and a granddog who has captured my heart. I love spending time with my family, dogs, reading, eating, travel and, of course, jewelry. I really can't say what kind of jewelry I like the best as I always end up with a huge list. I have an eclectic taste and find beauty in very different pieces - not that I wear them all, but I appreciate them. I can say that I have a special affection for Victorian, sterling, hearts, crosses and lockets. I am a sentimental, romantic at heart.
My jewelry journey began when I was about 12 years old and my mom started selling jewelry at flea markets and shows. She always loved vintage items and soon the jewelry she sold was mostly vintage also. I went with her many weekends, but usually read books and ate - still two of my favorite things, although I regretably seem to find more time for eating than reading. I just didn't care about the jewelry or vintage items really. It was kind of cool but "the bug" never bit me. Flash forward to about a year after the birth of my baby boy.
While shopping garage sales looking for household items I came upon a beautiful 14K gold cameo pin for a bargain price . . . and the rest is history. I know my mother must have been thrilled that I had finally been bitten. We spent almost every weekend at estate sales, thrift shops, anywhere we could treasure hunt. At first she taught me and then as she aged she began to learn from me - which was kind of fun. I was so proud of her when, at the age of 70, she bought a computer and I taught her her how to do email, take and download pictures, and sell on eBay. Not many 70 year olds would attempt that - much less accomplish it. I also began selling new sterling silver at market days and shows to help make ends meet. I also sold on eBay from 2000-2008 and in late 2008 jumped in feet first to fulfill my long time dream of having my own shop.
My mom went home March 9, 2011 and she is no longer here to share this passion with me, which saddens me, but I am grateful to her for passing the torch along to me. My husband is my biggest supporter, courier and mail clerk. He does more than his share of housework so I can spend more time on Purple Daisy Jewelry. My son is my artistic, graphics advisor (he works cheap) and my daughter my counselor (she's a really good listener - but she can talk a blue streak, too!) Someday I think (hope) one of my children will pick up the torch from me and we can spend time sharing this journey (or maybe they will marry someone who will share it with their mom-in-law). For now I share my passion with my husband, fellow shop owners and vintage lovers, and you . . . the wonderful customers that make my shops possible.

In Loving Memory - 11/20/31 - 3/9/11
She was born November 20, 1931 in Lee County, Miss., grew up in Tupelo, Miss. and lived in both Round Rock and Austin, Texas. She loved deeply, was generous and compassionate. She told a good tale and was a bit mischievous. Children and animals loved her, and she them. She had a quick temper, but forgave easily and was a fighter with a strong will to live. She loved vintage items and antiques and ran her own vintage jewelry business. She enjoyed garage sales, flea markets, growing plants, her precious Doxie, Chico, and Elvis Presley. I loved her dearly. She was Bobbye Martin Maiorano and she was my mom. I miss her so much.
Thank you mom for loving me, for teaching me and my family about generosity, for sitting up nights caring for me when I was so sick, for being an inspiration to my family about never giving up, about learning new things no matter how old you are, for your laughter and imagination. Thank you for leaving us with so many funny stories to remember you by. And, of course, for passing on your love of vintage jewelry to me.

The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:28-31
